It is with extreme pleasure that we offer the following evaluation of our experience with Ms. Joann Doane. We can’t say enough: she was so obviously knowledgeable from the very first safety review, competently pointing out things about our rig, showing us what needed urgent attention (like tires that were way too old), and explaining in careful detail why she was making recommendations, including possible consequences and potential hazards of which we would have been totally unaware without her input. She spent time with us going over hitching and unhitching (we seriously needed help) and then, she helped us face what was the most daunting to us: backing up and in. Joann was a powerhouse of a teacher and pushed us to practice until we both understood the process, and–though we are far from mastery–gave us the training to have confidence in ourselves as a team. She went with us to our RV park, where she helped us navigate into a tricky site. Our actual driving time (over diverse terrain) was filled with her going over safety issues, driving tips and cautions we might encounter on the road. In our experience, she went way above and beyond to help us, and she truly did help us. We came home with excitement about venturing out with our rig, something which had been missing.

Joanne is a natural teacher and her wonderful enthusiasm was matched by her extensive experience: she is obviously an RV Pro and we knew it from the get-go. Her knowledge is broad, thorough, and so well integrated…it feels like it’s “in her bones.” In our book, she gets an A+ across the board, along with our enormous gratitude. RV Driving School is lucky to have her!

I could not be a more satisfied customer than I have been the last two days, having Joe Kochis as my RV Driving School teacher. I took this class three years ago and I remember not getting it. From the moment Joe Kochis pulled out a piece of paper and pencil and started explaining pivot point to me, I knew I was in good hands. For one thing, I thought I knew about pivot point but what I had not realized was that I had not known how to apply that knowledge. That’s what Joe Kochis did for me. He explained things extremely well, breaking it down the way I needed to be able to understand it, and then he told me how to apply those concepts. He is a fantastic teacher!

Joe is also a very warm and personable person. I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning, and appreciated all the knowledge and experience he imparted. Joe is a huge asset to RV Driving School and I am extremely lucky to have gotten him as my teacher. I feel very confident in my ability to drive our RV.

We took a double lesson on November 4 and 5 with Tim Armstrong, I can’t say enough about how much we both appreciated Tim’s enjoyable personality and his professionalism. I have been driving an RV for about 12 years and I learned so many little things to help me, especially how to use some aids in backing into an RV space. Deb had never driven an RV before we took the lesson and Tim had her backing up like a pro. The next day she was driving down a busy interstate and a smaller highway through town as if she had always been driving a 42’ motorhome. To have both of us able to drive makes for much more pleasant travel. We would recommend RV Driving School to anyone at any experience level.

Wanted to send our feedback for the driving lesson.

Steve was wonderful. He was patient, and explained everything with great detail. He made backing up and maneuvering our 5th wheel much easier than we thought. Since our less just a few days ago, we have already used all of the skills he taught us. We highly recommend this school for anyone apprehensive about pulling a trailer or driving an RV. We were completely new to the lifestyle, never hooked up a trailer before at all. I would consider us pretty well versed at this point. Thanks for the time and attention given during our lesson.

We took lessons from Dana on November 14th and 15th.

He was wonderful, friendly and made me feel comfortable. He answered all questions and continued to instill confidence in all maneuvers.

The first day was closed course. I think it would have been helpful to spend time practicing turning in imaginary intersections (both left, right) with perhaps cones were cars would be to make sure that the turn was good. That would have given me more confidence on the open road. We did make several turns throughout the parking look in both directions.

However, having said that, the road drive went through the turning and made me feel comfortable and showed me I could do it.

Dana was wonderful and would recommend him! I’ve already given RV driving school to some friends that bought theirs right before us.

I just completed the RV Driving Course with Tim Armstrong yesterday afternoon. I (and my wife, who was riding along) thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tim was an excellent instructor. Even though I had previously trailered motorboats and sailboats, none of them were as long or heavy as our new RV. Also, I had no prior experience pulling a trailer with a 5th wheel hitch. Since I had never owned and/or pulled an RV before, I considered this course to be critical. Tim provided all the information and training I was hoping to receive. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for this type of course.

I would highly recommend RV Driving School, and its instructors, to anyone who is new to driving a recreational vehicle. This is my first travel trailer, and backing into campsites and where I store my trailer is a challenge so I was very happy to find RV Driving School to help me learn. My instructor, Larry Robertson, taught me the driving skills I need, plus shared a wealth of knowledge from his many years of experience owning RVs. I feel much more confident in driving and owning my beautiful new “second home.”

Last week, my husband and I took our long anticipated RV Driving lesson in the Phoenix area with Jordy Bender. We are about to take delivery of a 45 foot Showhauler Super C and are a little nervous about jumping in and driving it. We wanted lessons BEFORE taking delivery. As you suggested, we rented a 35 foot box truck for the lesson as it would drive more similarly to a Super C than other rental options.

We are SO pleased with our experience and with Jordy! He was fantastic, the lesson plan was extremely useful and we learned a great deal. I can’t think of a single negative, but for the fact that the rental truck was not particularly comfortable….LOL.

We have traveled extensively in our 24 foot Sprinter for five years and have sailed a 20 ton 52 foot sailboat for 30 years. Although this is a huge step up from our Sprinter and different from our sailboat, we were hoping that our prior experience would relevant.

Jordy did a great job of relating our prior experience to driving the new rig. He also pointed out frequently how our rig would differ from the rental we were driving.

Overall, it was a great experience. Jordy was very knowledgeable and patient but did not waste our time with lessons we didn’t need due to our prior experience

We are so glad that we took these lessons before picking up our new RV. We are quite confident that we will be far more comfortable in our new rig when we take delivery next month.
