Our back up lesson with Randy was absolutely great.  Randy was professional, knowledgeable and a great teacher.  Those 3 do not often go hand in hand.  Randy worked hard at understanding what would help us learn how to back up.  Though Rving for over 6 years I have always dreaded the back up site.  No more.  Randy not only trained me as the driver but just as importantly trained my wife as a spotter.  We were very pleased and actually look forward to trying out our new skills.  Thanks Randy and thank you RV driving School.

Your instructor for this lesson was very well qualified, calm, thorough, and professional. I have walked away with a much higher level of confidence in driving as well as practical living on-the-road skills. Money well spent. Thank you,

My husband and I took a 2-day RV driving course with Shane after purchasing our Class A vehicle.  We’d rented RV’s before and spent 5 weeks on a road trip in 2020 so we didn’t fully know what to expect from our training.  It was amazing!  We really gathered a good deal of technical expertise about our coach and learned the proper technique when handling the coach in a variety of driving circumstances and terrain.  We even learned to parallel park!  We would highly recommend a driving course with Shane and RV Driving School.  Not only is he a subject matter expert, but his ability to knowledge transfer in a positive learning environment is outstanding.  We’re so glad we took the course, thanks Shane!

We cannot thank both Bill Anderson and John Mayleben enough regarding our “life with the RV Driving School”. I contacted the school, connecting with John prior to us even purchasing our RV. We had bought a small C Class on a whim and on the very first trip knew this wasn’t for us. My parents had a Newell and that was my style of camping but regretfully not our budget! So, we were searching for a Class A RV. John was fabulous, providing helpful suggestions including links to coaches that matched our requirements and information on finding a qualified inspector. We ended up buying one of the RV’s he had found, and it was local to boot! Thanks John.
Now, we own a 45ft Class A that neither of us had even started much less driven. Enter (not whispering) Bill Anderson. Bill was in touch with us as soon as I registered for the course and we set up our training dates immediately, right in the middle of the Christmas to New Year holiday season. He was very prompt each day and never once looked at the clock, instead working with us both days until we came to closure for that day. We started out with the basics including which key actually started this beast! Before ever driving, we went over the basics focusing on safety and functionality, including every item on the dashboard and sideboard along with mirrors and so much more.
Over the next two days, we did everything you can imagine we will need to do going forward. Truck stops (including truck stop etiquette and information on savings with diesel payment cards), on the road parallel parking, serious time on cornering (including Bill’s “where’s your shoulder?” rule which we now consider law), merging, accelerating, braking (using the coach’s air braking systems), backing (with tag dumping), two-lane country roads with no shoulder and tree overhangs, I45 Houston traffic, construction zones, and so much more. GOAL was reinforced, meaning when in doubt, “Get Out And Look”. We are in Houston, so Bill could not find hills, much less mountains… so we did overpasses! We were never pressured to go faster and instead we were continually told to do things at the speed we were comfortable. This was hard for both my husband and I as we are not used to ever being the log jam on any road. But Bill’s constant reinforcement of “you can’t hear them, and they can’t hear you” helped both of us overcome this preconceived notion we can’t hold up traffic. Yes, you can.
Lastly, I need to talk about our storage unit, my biggest and ongoing issue. It’s 4 inches wider than our rig’s mirrors and the space behind our unit is only around 10 feet longer than our rig. I insisted that I want drive it in forward and then just back it out. Bill worked with us endlessly on this objective. However, Bill had my husband try his method of backing in. Bill discussed the PLAN (always have a plan!) and Rickey lined it up, went forward and backed it in with just two moves. I refused to try it, but Bill wouldn’t let me back out. He kept saying “you don’t have to do it forever but try it while I’m here”. OMG, it was so easy backing the coach in versus heading in front first! My husband gives Bill kudos as he says he could have NEVER talked me into trying to back in. Now it seems like common sense to do so.
Thank you to RV Driving School. We are so ready to hit the road!

Frank is an excellent instructor.  He is informative and patient.  Frank also helped me out with a battery box issue I had while at class. I learned how to back up on both sides, which was my goal.  I would highly recommend this class.

Thanks for a good experience.

First and foremost, my instructor Mr. Steve Avant was beyond amazing and he is a phenomenal RV Driving instructor!  My wife and I are brand new RVers and we are starting out full time in a 44′ 5th wheel Toyhauler.  When we signed up for this training, we had almost zero RV Driving experience and both of us were a bit nervous to say the least.  During the training sessions, I was the driver and my wife Jodie was the observer.
Steve did an excellent job educating both of us on the basic fundamentals of safe RV towing and building my confidence behind the wheel in a variety of different driving situations (and challenges).  He was extremely patient with us, he thoroughly addressed all of our concerns and questions, and he even made the sessions FUN despite our initial stress!  😀
Both days, Steve went above and beyond by staying well after our scheduled ending times and he also met us at our campsite on the first morning, per our request, to verbally guide us out of a very tight spot at the campground before our official training session even began.  He also gave us numerous helpful tips regarding full timing and safely traveling in an RV.
Steve Avant is a wealth of knowledge in “all things RV Driving” and he is truly a gifted RV Driving instructor.  Steve and the RV Driving School exceeded our expectations in every regard, and I highly recommend these lessons to anyone like me who is new to RV towing / driving or someone who is looking to take their skills to the next level and build their confidence behind the wheel while safely traveling with an RV.
Thank you for providing this outstanding and invaluable service!
Sincerely,
South Carolina

Michael Lynch did a fantastic job of instructing me  through my driving experience.  He has a great teaching methodology and explains concepts that are easily understood and applicable.  Highly recommend anyone operating a large Class A RV to take this class – gave me the confidence to easily and safely drive.  The level of confidence I gained through this instruction is will serve me for years.

I had a driving lesson with Mr. Brian Revard in Tucson, AZ, on 11/28/22

It was awesome!!!  Brian was wonderful.  He was very patient, informative, courteous, and helpful.  I really loved that one of the first things he mentioned was that it is OK and encouraged to select pull-through sites as your first campsite option followed by 45-degree back-ins, then 90-degree back-ins.  I have spent the past year, our first year as full-time RVers, feeling that in the world of longtime RVers I was being wimpy in not selecting back-in sites all the time.  Such a relief!!

Brian answered all of my questions and provided great tips and insights into helping me to improve my backing skills.

A follow-up to my training – 12/01.  With the assistance of the work-campers at our wintering campsite, I parked our RV into a very, very tight 90-degree back-in with much greater ease and confidence.  Thanks again to Brian for helping to improve my skills.

I am a 65-year-old, 5ft tall, handicapped (severe scoliosis) female.  I drive a Ram 3500 crew-cab, long bed pickup truck and tow a 35ft fifth-wheel.  I do most of the driving and handle the parking of the RV with my husband providing the guidance.  As he is more able-bodied than me doing the driving is my way of contributing to our RV lifestyle.  Besides I love to drive.  It gives me the mobility that my body is limited to.

Thank you again, Brian Revard, for sharing your driving expertise, advice, and encouragement.  So glad to have signed up for the lesson!  Would highly recommend the RV Driving School to others.  Actually, I already did recommend RV Driving School to my brother!

Great lesson with Bill Anderson.  He was prompt, professional, informative, and was able to really help us understand better how to back our horse trailer. Would recommend Bill to anyone who needs some assistance learning to maneuver any vehicle!

Thanks!
