Good afternoon!
Today my husband and I completed our 2nd day of RV Driving School with Candace Rivero in Elkhart Indiana.  We recently went from a 29ft Class C to a 39ft 5th wheel which is completely new to both of us and we had a lot of anxiety about how to maneuver our new investment.  I found RVDriving School on line and we made the decision to take the course.  Unfortunately, there were no instructors near our home in New Hampshire so we decided to incorporate the course as part of our cross country adventure.  This proved to be a great decision for both of us. Although we still need a lot of practice, we now have the tools to put to use.

Candace was able to provide us with confidence and reassurance that we can do this.  I’ve never been a driver who uses mirrors but she taught me/us how to adjust the side view mirrors for optimal vision.  We had plenty of driving time on the road and she brought us to empty lots to practice backing up and learning how to spot for the driver.  When my husband was done with the initial part of the lesson, Candace said it was time for me to drive back to camp (YIKES!). It was cold and rainy and I wasn’t sure I wanted to drive.  Candace gave me the encouragement to get behind the wheel. I’m so glad that she gave me that push.  My initiation into driving my RV began with a rotary and a detour down some narrow city streets. It felt great to accomplish this.

Our 2nd day of lessons began with a short drive to a lot to practice backing into imaginary campsites.  Communication of doing things in reverse can be confusing and with more practice I have confidence that we will continue to improve.

I think this driving course is a wonderful idea but in speaking with RV dealers in our area and other RVers, many say they never heard of it. My suggestion would be to somehow get the word out there that this type of service exists.  Perhaps this is not an issue in other parts of the country.

My thanks again to Candace for her time and knowledge.  I am definitely feeling more confident about driving our new RV.
Thank you,
Dianne & Robert C.
