Martie A.
It was an absolute pleasure to have Josh Long as my driving instructor. From the first communication he was and remains a true professional and very good at training a completely new RV owner.
am a single female and was very intimidated by the process of hooking up, pulling, backing up and setting up the 35 foot Travel Trailer. Josh met me at my home, drove with me to the site where the RV was picked up, inspected it, helped me hook it up and drive it to the storage site and assisted me with backing it in.
We then set a date for parking lot training. I picked up the RV, drove it to a largely unused parking lot where Josh set up several backing procedures and gently guided me through the paces of how to turn the wheel in the proper direction in order to get the RV to swing in the correct direction. The entire training took about an hour and a half. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t much longer. His guidance was just that good and very smooth.
The last training was at a campground. When I went to hook up the RV, the battery was dead. Josh drove to the storage unit (a 45 minute drive from his home) and made sure I was ok using the hand crank to hook up the RV to charge the battery. He followed me to the campground and we proceeded to continue with training. This time it was backing the trailer into a campground spot. It was relatively easy!!
He spent about two hours showing me how to use the self-leveling system (which required finding a Youtube video due to multiple error messages), hooking up electrical, sewer, engaging slide-outs, turning on the refrigerator, where the gas was located and how to turn on/off air conditioning and heat.
We then did everything in reverse, hooked up the RV and off I went to put the RV back in storage.
Josh made himself available long after training completed anytime I was in a jam and even brought me firewood on my maiden voyage at the same campground I trained in when I became full-time in the RV.
I give him a million stars for his kindness, patience and willingness to be available for my uh-oh moments of “what-the-heck do I do now” situations”. He really helped ease my fears and beginner jitters.
Josh is a true gem and I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of RV driver training.
Sincerely,
