I recently had the privilege of having Mike Stewart as my driving instructor.  Mike was fantastic as a teacher.  I had never towed a fifth wheel before, and was about to depart with my wife on a 750 mile road trip from Denton, TX to Colorado Springs with our new rig.  Mike started with an hour of safety and how to properly hitch up the fifth wheel hitch on the rig.  We then spent seven hours and 60 miles on the road teaching me how to properly maneuver – everything from backing, to parking, turning, stopping, and maintaining my distance and center of my lane on the highway.  Mike also showed me how to correctly use the tow haul feature on my truck, along with the engine braking feature.

During our two-day road trip from Denton to Colorado Springs we encountered Texas heat, torrential downpours (including a system that was spawning tornadoes in the Texas Panhandle),100 miles of dense fog, a mountain pass (Raton, NM), and as we were arriving in Colorado Springs, snow.  Through it all, using the towing lessons Mike taught me, we never had a single issue on the road with our new rig.  I recommend the RV Driving School to inexperienced RV drivers, and I especially recommend Mike Stewart as an instructor.  For me, this was money well spent.
