Jim & Diane E.

My husband and I recently completed our RV driving lessons with Mr. Gary Goldsberry. Gary’s natural teaching ability and patience made this course one of the most valuable investments we’ve made since purchasing our first camper in 2015.

To say we were both a little skeptical, upon signing up for the course, would be an understatement. However, within the first hour of our lesson we were amazed with the expertise and knowledge Mr. Goldsberry possessed. He is the first person who was able to clearly explain AND demonstrate gross, axle, combined, and tongue weight ratings and how they affect your vehicle, camper, and safety while towing.  We had our 5th wheel weighed at the Escapees Headquarters but did not completely understand the results. We were told the results weren’t good, but without understanding what the weight ratings meant we drove away a bit frightened and confused.  Gary was able to walk us through each weight taken and explain the positive and negative impacts of each result compared to our truck and 5th wheel weight ratings.

My husband had done all the driving since we started RVing in 2016. Being a novice, I never would have believed that at the end of our 2nd day Gary could give me the confidence and knowledge to drive busy streets, curvy mountain roads,
and to parallel park our rig!!  Additionally, he addressed and corrected some of the bad habits my husband had acquired.

Mr. Goldsberry is one of the most effective educators we have had in a very long time. It was instantly obvious that he was a natural teacher who understood his curriculum. We felt extremely comfortable asking him questions and his critiques were helpful and pertinent to the subject.

As an example of his commitment to the benefits of this driving course, Gary took the time to research our Demco sliding hitch that automatically slides up to 14” to the rear making a 90 degree turn possible without hitting the truck cab, to ensure he understood how the hitch would perform when giving us backing and turning instructions.  With this research, Gary was able to maximize our turning and backing capabilities.

We belong to a Facebook group for Arctic Fox RV owners and we immediately put up a post regarding our positive experience with the RV Driving School. The response we received  on this single post was amazing!  The number of folks asking for information was overwhelming and we had a few that shared the post with others who were interested.

We are now firm believers that a much safer and pleasant RVing experience could be obtained if everyone was willing to participate in the RV driving course you offer.

Thank you for utilizing such competent instructors like Mr. Goldsberry.  He is certainly an excellent example of an exceptional teacher.

Best Regards,
Jim & Diane E.
